Howdy! Thank you SO much for taking the time to click over to Being Quietly Confident!
This blog is my latest undertaking in an exercise to share my recently-found passion for trying new things. In fact, for the most part, it was born out of a desire to share what I learn with you AFTER I try new things!
A little about me:
I am first-and-foremost a wife. Mr. BQC and I were married in May of 2014. If you know me, you know how excited I am to use this moniker for him because TECHNICALLY it puts a “Mr.” in front of my maiden name initials (which, at 34, I was VERY reluctant to give up), albeit out of order. It feels like a win. He was the first to point out how I snuck those letters in there. Thanks, babe.
So I suppose trying this thing called marriage was probably the first new thing I tried recently.
In addition to a wife (and pet mom), I am a school counselor. This position is also new for me. I spend a big chunk of my time at work thinking of ways to help children (and the occasional co-worker) build their confidence to make informed and healthy decisions for themselves. My day-to-day experiences in school counseling have greatly influenced the decision to start this blog dedicated to my journey towards confidence…a journey I truly hope inspires you to have confidence in yourself.
Sometimes seeing others take risks can inspire us to do the same.
My third title is a recently-acquired one (yes, more recently than “wife” and “school counselor”). In October of 2014, I made the decision to become a small business owner with a company called Younique. This was so far outside of my usual repertoire that I had to email close friends ahead of time to assure them that my account was not hacked, and yes, I was going to sell cosmetics. Haha! Even Mr. BQC was skeptical at first.
The Younique decision put me smack in the middle of the road where you have now joined me. Trying new things takes confidence, and my confidence has increased exponentially in recent months. I’ve learned so many new things, I can no longer in good conscience keep them to myself.
My hope for YOU is that you’ll leave this page after every visit feeling either inspired to try something new or at least closer to knowing that someone (ahem, me) is wanting the best for you in your journey toward having more confidence.
